Business Office Associate with HR Responsibilities

Founded in Chicago in 1876, Sacred Heart Schools at Sheridan Road (Hardey Preparatory for Boys and Academy of the Sacred Heart for Girls) are independent, Catholic, single-sex elementary schools committed to academic excellence within the context of a Christian, faith-based community.  The educational mission is deeply rooted in the 200-year tradition of the Society of the Sacred Heart and shared with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools located in 32 countries, including 21 schools in the United States.  The essence of this tradition is the total development of each child: spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical.

The Business Office Associate will work within the scope of the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart to support the educational mission of the school.  The Business Office Associate will perform accounting and human resources functions.  The accounting function entails preparing monthly bank reconciliations, entries in the general ledger, follow-up on outstanding accounts, compiling data for financial reports and assists with internal controls and the yearly audit. 

The human resources function entails receiving all résumés, filtering job applicants to the appropriate supervisor and follow-up, coordinating backgrounds checks, managing employment law compliance and assisting with the administration of the benefits program.
Skills Required/Preferred

  1. Bachelor's degree required; preference in Business Administration;
  2. Candidates must be reliable and have strong communication skills;
  3. The ability to perform multiple functions during the course of the day;
  4. Experience with Human Resources;
  5. Computer proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel;
  6. Experience with Blackbaud's Education Edge is a plus.

Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart - Bethesda, MD
Director of Parent Relations

Reports to: Director of Institutional Advancement                                   
Part-time: 20-25 hrs. per week

General purpose:  Develop and implement parent relations and events plans in collaboration with all divisions of the institution.  Liaison for the school for parents in all non-academic related projects for the school community Position responsibilities: 

  • Develops and implements events in collaboration with all offices throughout the school
  • Point of contact for parent body with school administration
  • Serve as staff liaison for various school committees
  • Coordinate all logistics as needed for school related events held on campus (Welcome Parent Reception, Alumnae Reunion, Admission Open House, Welcome Event for Admission, Multicultural Festival, Parent Social, Mother/Daughter Liturgies, US Liturgies, Arts Festival, Holiday Decorating, Field Day, Graduation, Board of Trustee dinners, Saint Madeleine Sofie Conge, Feast Wishes & others as needed
  • Schedule LS lunch volunteers
  • Process all special events requests with dining and maintenance staff for in school set up and food; Process all school related functions that occur outside school
  • Schedule and track all campus facilities for community
  • Keep community calendar
  • Collect information for monthly Stone Ridge Parent E-News
  • Other duties as assigned

Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart - Lake Forest, IL
Director of Advancement

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience and a proven track record in annual and campaign fundraising.  M.A. or M.S. degrees preferred.  CFRE preferred.  Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with other department personnel within the school. Excellent verbal/written communications skills, ability to successfully manage several projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Blackbaud Razor's Edge is necessary.  This position is full-time, including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • designs and implements an annual plan and goals for all development activities of the School;
  • is a member of the Leadership Team;
  • prepares and manages the advancement program budget to serve long and short term planning goals;
  • attends Board of Trustee meetings as necessary;
  • attends and assists the Advancement Committee in planning meetings and implementing goals;
  • establishes and executes planned giving program with Advancement Committee;
  • researches, cultivates, and solicits foundations and corporations;
  • oversees the operation of the Advancement Office (Annual Fund, Capital Campaign, Alumnae, and Special Events) and provides leadership for the Advancement Office staff;
  • collaborates with other administrators and faculty, staff, and trustees on marketing and advancement efforts;
  • directs all major gift initiative, capital campaign, etc. activities;
  • maintains contact with Network Development office and other Advancement organizations as appropriate.
